Dukes of Burgundy Royal Chateau Table

Posted on by Julie / Posted in New Product, Tables | Comments Off

Dukes of Burgundy Royal Chateau TableGreetings again from sunny Queenstown where we have been hard at work on a new table. Its called the Dukes of Burgundy Royal Chateau table and as you can see, is a stunning piece of craftsmanship all handmade by Chris.

It is made of French Oak with Walnut, Cherry and Sycamore inlay.

Can’t you imagine sitting around this table feasting on your turkey, ham, wine and pudding on Christmas day? You would literally be living like a ‘Duke’.

It is so hard to believe that Christmas is but a few weeks away, so in case I do not get a chance for another blog before then, I would like to wish everyone and very Happy and Healthy Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

A special ‘thank you’ to all of you that have supported us this year.

Until next time,

Julie

Verde Box Chair No 1

Posted on by Julie / Posted in Functional Art, New Product | Comments Off

Its been a while since I touched base with you but we have been busy getting ourselves known over here in Queenstown whilst fulfilling orders. The weather is warming up, the snow is melting, the trees and flowers are blooming and its just a fabulous time of year.

Its all been great fun and we had Lisa over here last week and in between some sightseeing, beautiful coffees and dining, we did some serious work as both companies still work very closely together.

A very exciting thing is that Chris and I have started a new line called ‘Functional Art’ here in NZ which means we make pieces that are artistic but can also be functional in everyday use. The first piece is this ‘Verde Box Chair No 1’ which has been snapped up by the local art gallery, ArtBay.  It is made using reclaimed painted lining boards and makes a real statement in any room. Chris has spent a lot of time in designing it so it is very comfortable as well as aesthetically beautiful and tactile.

This range can also be shipped to Australia.

Until next time,

Willmott Tables Update

Queenstown, as you can imagine, is buzzing at the moment with all the skiers from all over the world enjoying wonderful conditions on the ski fields. At night restaurants and bars are packed to the max and the atmosphere is wonderful to be a part of.

Its been a terrific few weeks since we started our little business here in Queenstown. We have had a lot of interest and have had one table go back to Australia and another one, a Avignon French Farmhouse (pictured) to a very happy client in Christchurch.

Please feel free to contact us if you too would like a table like this.

New Table Design

We have a new table on offer here at Willmott Tables. It is loosely based on a Danish design and has a lovely slightly oval top which gives it a more contemporary look. The legs are turned to be sympathetic to the curves of the top and the stainless steel stretchers complete the stylish look.

The table in the photo is 2000 x 900.

First blog in New Zealand!

Posted on by Julie / Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Welcome to my first blog in New Zealand!

For those of you that do not know us here in New Zealand, we are a husband and wife team, Chris & Julie Willmott, and we have been manufacturing unique stunning dining tables for over 30 years in Australia. Over the Tasman we are known as The Willmott Collection.

About 3 years ago we started holidaying in New Zealand and fell in love with the country and its people and decided we would like to move over here to live. We finally did that in March this year and are now very happily settled in Queenstown.

Our son Dan has taken over the management and production in Australia from Chris, and we have opened a small workshop here in Queenstown making the same sort of handcrafted tables under the name of Willmott Tables. Both businesses still work very closely together.

We make our tables out of European Oak, Walnut and Maple and also reclaimed New Zealand Rimu.

We have a diverse range of table styles so please remember if it is quality you want for a fair price, and know that it is genuinely made here in New Zealand, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Until next time …. Julie
